Markus I am also developing some games using java. Before focusing on the 3D
fun you need to focus on the game intelligence, the clients and the server, the
speed of how the client and server communicate online, etc. You could start
testing the results of the intelligence using the java 2D API.
Also remember that the limiting speed factor is not (only) the graphics but the
internet speed.
