I don't have much constructive to offer here, except to remark that I looked
at the particle system that Fouad Labaini attached to his message here on
the 25th, and it seemed that some of those models might be used to generate
low cost realistic flames. I'm thinking in particular about the approach
taken by the #6 model in the .exe version in the zipped attachment.
It sounds like you're going to get to play with fire before I do. Just a
thought.
