I've been looking over the "Beyond Mice and Keyboards" section of J3D.org by
Justin Couch.
There is a lot of information here, but the place I get lost is at:
Generally speaking, you will need some sort of custom device driver for
every input device and more often than not, that involves native code. For
some environments, you may need to do no more than query the operating
system specific driver capabilities.
Has anyone actually implemented a Joystick or spaceball? Is there sample
code available?
I have a Spacetec Spaceball 3003, a really cool device, and it even has a
test program which displays the input as transform coordinates. The drivers
and all are set up but I don't know how to get a hold of the data.
How do I access the device driver?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Don
