What do you define as "perspective view"? Do you mean that you just have
a simple terrain mesh and an image that you want to drape over it? If
that is all you want to do (and maybe do some walkthroughs) then VRML
will be fine. If you need to do anything more complex such as a lot of
user interaction or lots of large scale pieces of terrain (anything more
than 1km square) then Java3D will be the better option.
