OK, Justin and all others interested,
I got a reply about the copyright issues for the human movement simulations
(aka character animation).
All the code and the program itself is copyrighted by the University of
Memphis. I am not authorized to share any of it. However, the University
may share or "sell" by certain contracts all or parts of the code, demo,
etc. If you are interested, you, or a corresponding company, can contact
Dr. Graesser from the Psychology Department of The University of Memphis.
His email address is: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
If you choose to contact him, refer to this part of the code as the Java
version of "AutoTutor 2.0." He is not the one most familiar with the
programming of the project, but he is the one in charge of the project.
(Coinsidentally, as the name suggests, we are trying to create a human
tutor with AI and emotions, that will explain subjects of Comp. Literacy,
Physics, and other fields, to students...)
If you manage to get the code, I would recommend that you take a look at
the files Arto.java and PuppetMaster.java. The former is responsible for
the human (loading up everything, setting up hierarchies, etc). The latter
is a nice interface that allows a user to choreograph animations. None of
this was written by me.
