Hi all... just thought I would update you on the progress on overlays.

We just finished writing a scrolling overlay which manages a window
consisting of borders with a set of fixed width and height lines.  The test
I just ran was with 10 lines 400 pixels wide and 16 high.  The test inserted
1 line of text into the overlay every 100 ms.  The overlay scrolled smoothly
at a perfect 10 lines a second at 220 fps in a mostly empty scene on a
geforce II gts.  This test also had an FPS overlay running in the ever
popular big green letters on a perfect transparent overlay updating 3 times
a second.

I still have more work to do and more examples to write before I will
release it to all of you, but I am extremely psyched about the performance.
