Okay,

I figured out that the HTML file was failing to specify Java2 for some
reason, so by butchering an HTML file that did I was able to fix it and can
now run the example applets in alright NS. I'm a bit surprised that the
examples I'm working with came with HTML which doesn't do the job, though.
And I couldn't find an explanation of the new way of doing things on the
Sun site - I would have thought a search for Java2 applet HTML would turn
something up pretty quickly, but no. There must be something somewhere -
can anyone point me in the right direction?

My java.exe is still acting as if I don't have any class files anywhere -
not strictly a Java3D problem, but a posting in the Java Programming forum
at java.sun.com produced no responses so I wonder if anyone here has the
faintest idea what could have gone wrong with it?

Thanks

Previous message for reference:

I can run them alright in Appletviewer, but not using the general java
interpreter which seems to have stopped working since I installed QuickTime
(I get 'Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError,' just as
if the files I'm trying to run didn't exist at all).

This is all very frustrating when I'm just trying to get to grips with an
unfamiliar API by going through some example code. If anyone can help me
with any of this I'll be very grateful.

Thanks
