This applet displays exactly the same problem that all of my applets
have displayed ... the applet runs fine but if I close my browser or
click the back button to the previous page, the browser wedges.  Worse,
the freezing behavior spreads to other applications, ultimately wedging
my system.

Of course, that's what I get for using a toy operating system like
Windows.  Also my browser is Internet Explorer 6.0.  I'll try to
run this on some other browsers to see if I have the same problem.

I suspect I will.
