VisAD is a Java component library for interactive and
collaborative visualization and analysis of numerical
data. It emphasizes a universal numerical data model,
ubiquitous use of distributed objects for distributed
computing and collaboration, and object-oriented
extensibility. It also includes a Python scripting
capability.

VisAD is freely available including source code,
documentation, on-line tutorials and example
applications from:

  http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~billh/visad.html

VisAD uses the Java3D and Java2D graphics APIs.
