VisAD is a Java component library for interactive and collaborative visualization and analysis of numerical data. It emphasizes a universal numerical data model, ubiquitous use of distributed objects for distributed computing and collaboration, and object-oriented extensibility. It also includes a Python scripting capability.
VisAD is freely available including source code, documentation, on-line tutorials and example applications from: http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~billh/visad.html VisAD uses the Java3D and Java2D graphics APIs.
