Hi Justin and others:
> As for the specifics of my post, well that's just me.
Justin, you and I have already exchanged private emails about the
profanity you used in one of your email postings to the list. You say that's
just you; fine, I have no problem with you being you. I do not, however, feel
that profanity is appropriate in a public email list ... whether it is from you
or anyone else. You can choose to continue your behavior in which case I'll
have to ask for you to be removed from the list. I think you are a valueable
contribution to this list, I truly do, so I would like to ask you (and everyone
else) to not express profanity on this list. If you are angry at someone and
feel you must use profanity, then email the person privately and not direct your
anger at everyone on this list.
> I'm not about sucking up to people and if there is something wrong
> I'll say something about it.
I'm not asking you to suck up to anyone and I would highly encourage you
and others to say something when you feel something is wrong. That is what I am
doing right now also.
> I don't care if it offends some people.
That there is a fine line between saying what you feel is right and not
worrying about offending people and knowing that you will offend people and not
care and saying it anyway.
If you really mean what you are saying, then you might learn someday,
that if people take offense to your message, your message will not come across
and be effective or worse, it will have a negative affect and achieve quite the
opposite of what you want. You might also learn one day, that there are more
than one way to get your message across.
Justin, I see you as someone who enjoys being a leader on this list and
I certainly appreciate your leadership on this list. If you want your
communication to be effective, you must be responsible for how others will take
your message.
Cheers,
Mona
