I should have animation done in my Milkshape loader by the new year.  I should have plenty of time during the two weeks I've taken off from work.  I need about 5 uninterrupted hours to finish it.

I've never used 3D Studio, but I know that Milkshape can import the geometry from 3D Studio ASC and 3DS files.  I'm not sure if the different groups are imported or if it becomes one big mesh.  I do know that animations are not imported from a 3DS file.  If you wanted, you can design your model in 3DS, then animate it in Milkshape.
