Having been appointed to be a WinNT expert by one of my customers way back in the WinNT 3.51 days I guess I've been a "fool wannabe" for a long time. The problem is that I've not seen any WinNT version that lived up to the hype or cost (relative to Win98). Over the past half dozen years I've developed a downright dislike for all the WinNT versions.
Perhaps it's partly Microsoft's motivation to sell us a new OS every year that deters producing a stable OS version. Being OS independent is one of the primary reasons I was drawn to Java in the first place. But as we can see the dream hasn't really hit reality... we still see quirks across all the various configurations. But back on topic... in my opinion Win98SE is still the most reliable and compatible platform for running Java 3D. - John David Yazel wrote: > > Well I do *hope* that Windows XP will become stable and solid and finally > present a Microsoft solution which works for years.
