Paul sent me an update to that article quite a few moons ago. At that stage he marked it as "please don't post until we (sun) give you permission" because it contained a bunch of advanced stuff that was not yet in the various JDK setups and also the appropriate files on Sun's site. We never got that, but we've been working from it here to get things working. Believe it or not, we've been working on this exact issue over the past couple of days. I can say that it does work, and works very well. Now, we can say that auto-install does work As Advertised as we're using it for Xj3D currently. We're just validating everything correctly right now, and hope to have something to publish, probably by the end of the week (we are waiting for our digitial certificate so that we can sign the Xj3d and j3d.org jar AutoInstaller JAR files as a demonstrater). If that goes to plan, we will put together the document next week and post it on j3d.org. Unfortunately, the process is not exactly a simple and is going to take a bit to explain everything that needs to be done. -- Justin Couch http://www.vlc.com.au/~justin/ Java Architect & Bit Twiddler http://www.yumetech.com/ Author, Java 3D FAQ Maintainer http://www.j3d.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- "Humanism is dead.
