Hi Christian,

there is a quite easy solution, you might have found already:

// call this methods on your JPopupMenu instance
      jPopupMenu.setLightWeightPopupEnabled( false );
      jPopupMenu.setDefaultLightWeightPopupEnabled( false );

// and make sure this is called wright after your application was started
     ToolTipManager.sharedInstance().setLightWeightPopupEnabled( false );
