Initial load call as in

aVRML97Loader.load(aURL)

This is the bit that is catastrophically slow!

The M4 release

Then the old VRML97.jar VRML loader is clearly still needed and is likely to
be for the foreseeable future

However Alan pointing me toward untangling version 1.0 from the XJ3D CVS
archive isn't a lot of help when the archive appears to have been truncated
at version 1.1!

In view of the comments that suggest that XJ3D is unlikely to get within a
factor of 3 of the speed of the original VRML97 loader as a VRML97 geometry
loader, can I suggest that:-

1 is inappropriate to mislay or hide the existing generally pretty good
loader
2 it is inappropriate to channel all enquiries about VRML97 loaders toward a
facility that is not intended to be one and apparently never will be a
satisfactory one.

If anyone still has a copy of the source of the original VRML97 loader and
they please dig it out and I will look into supporting it for anyone who
wants it!
