Spectacular ! Just a quick comment though. Mind you this is from somebody whose education has a big lacuna when it comes to game programming. What I noticed was that the character in the game always appears to be in the dark even as it is progressing toward a sunlit horizon. Is it because the special effects appear more accentuated in a dark background ? I have generally noticed that particle simulators favor a blackground color that matches the color of the quad which contains the lit particle. Would it be expensive to merge the quad color with the background using a mask of some kind to produce background color independent effects ?
