Been spending some time digging through the JSRs recently, and low and
behold, JSR 184 has just appeared (6 May).

"This proposed JSR will provide a scalable, small-footprint, interactive
3D API for use on mobile devices."

Run by Nokia, with noone from Sun involved from what I can tell. Lots of
interesting reading and a bit of a slap in the face to the Java3D API
about it being too heavyweight etc. Funny thing is that it references
the so-far non-existant X3D specification!
