Hi Gael, I always had the same problem. This till I used the approach Daniel Selman is describing (incl full code) in "Building the Java 3D Swing application" in his book Java 3D Programming. In his code he makes use of JPanel to place the Canvas. Works excellent. This book, if you don't have it, is also available on-line at the publisher Manning. In addition I use JDialogs now wherever I can insted of PopUps. Works great!
Hope thisd helps a little.
