I just thought I'd pass on an interesting tidbit. For the past week I've been trying to identify a "memory leak" in a Java3D program that I run (it runs for about 20 hours straight through a day). Well, after much fussing and testing it appears the problem is induced by the "BlackICE" firewall software that I installed a week ago to test for a customer.
I tried all kinds of tweaking to my program to eliminate the problem. I switched JVMs, I switched versions of Java 3D, I tested on other machines (never a problem) and finally I disabled BlackICE. Presto... memory leak gone! My application creates a LOT of network traffic. I'm assuming this is related to why BlackICE was causing a memory leak. - John Wright Starfire Research =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
