I tried setting the view transforms but couldn't resolve this issue. Will the Back / Front ratio affect display changes? My observations are that if i zoom out to quite a large extent the color change appears and on zooming in, the color change disappears and turns to the original color. Anything to do with clipping etc?
Thanks,
Raghav

Hi, I am actually changing the Color of the Appearance Material of the Shape3D containing the LineArray. How do i reset the view to the same view after picking. The Picking process is transfered to my update( ) method wherein i am changing the color.Transform3D view = new Transfom3D(); ViewingPlatform platform = universe.getViewingPlatform(); platform.getViewPlatformTransform().getTransform(view); platform.getViewPlatformTransform().setTransform(view);Also, how is it that the color change gets reflected when i zoom the window? When you change the zoom, you update the view, so the scene is redrawn (and your changes take effect) Note: I'm only guessing this might be your problem, it may be completly wrong, but it might be worth trying to check. Thanks, RaghavKevKevin Glass wrote:Is your scene actually being refreshed after the pick? I'm not sure changing the color of an entity will force a refresh? Try resetting your view to the same view directly after your pick. This should force a refresh. KevHi, I have an application wherein i draw a set of lines (LineArray) in Green color initially. Further, when i pick this line and change its color to Red, it doesnt get displayed in Red. Only when i zoom the window, the color change can be seen. I am getting this problem after switching from JRE 1.2.2 / J3D 1.1.3 to JRE 1.4.1 / J3D 1.3. Has this anything to do with the Back / Front buffers / Clipping?
