I dream of being able to specify an array of let'say - int - (rgba) to a texture and then, when you modify this array the changes are reflected directly in the 3D world. It would mean that it would be possible to show a movie (and a lot more) with no garbage collection...(which keep being a critical point in Java for real time app). That is possible in java2D with a RenderedImage or a MemoryImageSource, why is'nt it in Java3D.
what? .... I heard someone say something.... that's because of OpenGL ??
Why? JNI support accessing an array by obtaining a direct pointer on it with the methods Get/SetIntArrayElements() . So, does anybody think that my dream will come true one day?
Thanks
