Hi All, For those interested in seeing how far Xith3D has progressed since the day David Yazel announced it and released the first alpha, you can check out some of the demos which we have recentally made into Java Web Start apps.
As they use Java Web Start, all you need is Java 1.4.2 installed (the minimum requirements of JOGL, which Xith3D uses) - all other libraries will automatically be downloaded for you (it's only 3MB). The only other requirement is that your graphics card supports OpenGL 1.2 or better (so make sure you have up to date drivers). It has been tested and works on Windows and Linux. Mac OS X is also supported (however is currently untested). Many people were asking questions a few weeks ago (thread: "Status of J3D") and hopefully this will provide some answers. The link of the demos is: http://xith.org/demo/ The source code for the demos (and infact the entire scenegraph and rendering engine) is included with all of the Xith3D downloads on this page: http://xith.org/download.php. If you have any other questions - it is probably best to ask them in the forum here: http://www.javagaming.org/cgi-bin/JGNetForums/YaBB.cgi?board=xith3d Cheers, William Denniss http://tankammo.com/ =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA3D-INTEREST".
