As they use Java Web Start, all you need is Java 1.4.2 installed (the minimum requirements of JOGL, which Xith3D uses) - all other libraries will automatically be downloaded for you (it's only 3MB). The only other requirement is that your graphics card supports OpenGL 1.2 or better (so make sure you have up to date drivers).
Java Web Start also says the downloaded application requests unrestricted access to my machine. Can this be restricted, so that the application only asks for OpenGL access?
