It's not disinformation, it's barely even information, it's just all speculation, so is anything produced by anyone other than someone from the relevant team at sun. Justin posted a information of first hand experience of interacting with those people so I take what he has to say seriously on the issue. Doug keeps saying that they are planning something, but they can't say what, but the planing seems as stagnant as Java3D right now (ie, nothing updated on that front, and emails received from him (not by me) are just saying the same thing). The apple release can be taken a couple of different ways, but all of those are just speculation too. At the end of the day we have two choices, either hope sun come up with something, or find an alternative. I have voted on that poll because I have my own speculations, but I'm not going to air those here as we have enough random speculation from everyone else, and those who care can find it in this list or on jgo, and it's as meaningless as anyone elses speculation, including yours :) As for damaging Java3D, i'm not sure it does any more than sun has. On the other hand there is still an active java3d forum there, that does have questions and answers on various java3d questions, which can only help.
