[JAVA3D] extrude a shape along a path

I want to extrude a shape along a line path with several steps.

1. Do you know where can I find a sample and simple algorithm or library
java3d to do that?

2. Do you have some book titles who treat that subject: 3d algorithms,
extrusion?

see a book title "Java 3d Techniques for Real Applications" de Justin
Couch on amazon.fr a book whose publication was cancelled. Is that
because java3d status is is in a holding pattern?]
