Thanks Gilson, John and Pasi, your replies are spot
on - and your point on using java for real
time rendering is noted.
I will see how I get on with your
suggestions.
Best regards,
Adrian.

Subject: Applications using Java3D.. Hi all,
I am in the process of setting up a project to make
a 30 minute long computer generated film. As I have very little resources and
this is a hobby I have decided to do as much of the work as possible using free
software and minimal hardware costs. Consequently I have opted for Java 3D and I
would also like to use Milkshape 3D for content in particular the human models
however I have not successfully used a Milkshape loader yet!
I would appreciate some general tips from those
experienced in this field on what I need for a good development kit.
Any information on -
1.) Typical
hardware requirement to produce a 30min long film.
2.) Software
packages to use for content building which must have reliable loader to Java 3D
and free if possible
3.)
Advantage / Disadvantage of Java 3D
Any information you think will be useful for a low
budget start-up in 3D Animation.
Looking forward to replies and many
thanks,
Adrian.
