Hi,
We are running a Diamond Viper V550 AGP card with a Tyan dual processor
motherboard - 2 x 400 PII BX chip set - with NT4 service pack 4.
We have downloaded and installed the October versions of Diamond's NT Drivers.

The Java3D examples seem to work fine - we see all the faces in ConicWorld
the Galleon is complete, SphereMotion runs fine with all spheres shown.

We also ran the Glaze 3.1 OpenGL test progam and found the following
problem:-
Running E and S Glaze 3.1 OpenGL test progam then everything works
correctly at 16 bit but when selecting 24 bit colour then the Virtual
Room texture is not displayed although appears to be loading in that the
 frame rate drops.

We contacted Diamond's European Support and received this reply the next
day

We are unable to disable MPS 1.4 on our motherboard and suspect the problem
is connected with AGP. The problem does not impact our work.

We have also seen another minor problem when we loaded a very large texture
map. The result was no texture and no error. When we resampled the texture
so it would fit, it worked fine. This was with OpenGLX on Exceed3d.

During the investigation of the problems, we loaded the nVidia generic drivers
and tested them. The Glaze test still failed but more interestingly, the
Java3D examples also failed. The ConicWorld only showed one face. Only a few
bits of the Galleon were shown and the main sphere was missing in SphereMotion.

We are unable to test the Diamond Viper V550 under Windows95 but having
followed the threads of this problem suggest the following:-
The Diamond Viper V550 driver is based on the nVidia generic drivers.
The generic drivers seem to have the problem experenced by some Windows95
users. Therefore it is possible that some Diamond drivers may have this bug.
It seems that the Diamond NT drivers are OK.
Checking the dates, the NT driver is October, the nVidia generic drivers
are December. Is it possible the Windows95 drivers are based on later
generic drivers than the NT version and the problem has been introduced.

Hope this helps.
