The 1.2.1 release of the JDK is strictly an interim security fix.  What
used to be called 1.2.1 internally will be released as 1.2.2.  I just
checked the bug report, and the plug-in bug has been fixed and
integrated into what was originally called 1.2.1, but will now be
called 1.2.2.

As I understand it, this 1.2.1 release is just the original Java 2
Release plus this one security fix, and no other fixes.

                   allowing an untrusted applet to execute unverified
                   code under certain circumstances. It is an
                   implementation bug and not a flaw in the Java
