Has anyone had this problem? We load up pretty good scenegraphcs and then free them up repeatedly. I ran it on Optimizeit to verify that everything was being freed up properly (parts that wouldn't free, we re-used). It shows the heap size to grow and shrink properly with the size of the model. That's the good part. The bad part is that the NT TaskManager shows the VM size and memory usage increasing with every model. This leads me to believe that either the J3D native stuff isn't freeing up memory properly or the OpenGL drivers are consuming a crazy amount of memory. I sort of feel it's the former.
