Daniel,

I'd be interested in doing something on this, I even put together a
bundle of ideas for a more generic Java resource site a few months
back. Part of my problem was finding things, the other part was the
quality of what I found was very variable, so I came up with the
concept of a Java resources site that had people acting as editors in
their area of expertise, each submission would get rated by somebody
'in the know'. I even went as far as drawing up some ideas for a web
site, although time needed for other projects meant I never got past
the concept stage.

I can provide free MySQL/Tomcat hosting from a spare Mac Mini at my
home - although its only 32 bit so Java 5 only - to get the prototype
up and running. After all, you'd have to write a Java Library Library
in Java, right?

I'm interested in your definition of a 'Web 2.0' project - a
collaborative site or one with piles of Ajax? I've done work on a few
collaborative sites but have avoided Ajax to date because of the
browser support headaches. I'm thinking of mocking up some screens in
the next couple of days (nothing fancy, I'm a software engineer not a
web designer), will post a link to them once done, just to see if
anybody takes the bait.

I thought of a few names too but all the snappy ones are taken or
squatted...

Phil.
