I am after the same thing. In addition I was hoping it would be easier to get started to create such an app in NetBeans. Without knowing the syntax (not that it's a difficult one), I can't just start dropping Swing components to create an app (a bit lazy but I'm spoiled by nice IDEs). It also sounds like Web Services are REST only in JavaFX at least for now.
