The JavaFX Netbeans plugin can also be made to work on Linux.  Just 
download all the *.nbm files from

http://updates.netbeans.org/netbeans/updates/6.5/uc/final/stable/modules/javafx/

And install them in the Downloaded tab of the plugin manager dialog box. 
  (Well, it's a little more complicated than that.  But the gist is that 
it can be done easily.)
