Hello hello posses, I am outraged. Nan I am kidding but I would like to clarify a bit what was said about JSR 303 Bean Validation in the latest episode: - the public draft is out and has been posted by JBoss, not Sun. That's OK you did the same mistake last time. At least, you are consistent ;) - Bean Validation is long awaited by the community and its proprietary equivalents (like Hibernate Validator and OVal) are alive, kicking, widely used and deeply integrated with JPA, JSF and Seam to provide consistent validation in all layers. - Bean Validation's main goal is not to address pre-conditions per se but an extension has been proposed in the spec after popular demand. You can achieve Programming by contract with Bean Validation. Check Appendix C of the public draft.
For more info on what's new in the spec, have a look at this blog entry http://in.relation.to/Bloggers/BeanValidationJSR303PublicDraftGiveUsFeedback and give us feedback in http://forum.hibernate.org/viewforum.php?f=26. Happy new year everyone and gang of four, keep up the good work.
