I will cheerfully admit that the steps mentioned here are well beyond my knowledge level, I'd have just restarted the app server and whined about how JBoss sucked.
I have similar issues of PermGenSpace with a Grails project under Glassfish, I just increased the amount of PermGen space and moved on.
