Hi!

One of the goals of JavaFX is to appeal to the designer crowd that
probably uses Adobe Flash / Flex / AIR now. Sun also likes to point
out that the Java VM is much more capable than the Flash Player with
all it's rendering and media codec power.

As an example that even with the less-capable Flash Player you can do
amazing things if you just get the right designers, take a look at
what was voted Flash site of the year (see
http://blog.digitalbackcountry.com/2009/01/congrats-to-the-eco-zoo-winner-of-the-fwa-site-of-the-year-award/):
the "Eco Zoo".

http://ecodazoo.com/

On the site. click with the left mouse and drag, click on the animal
icons, and click the book button. :-)

I'm pretty sure JavaFX can do that, but when you look at the JavaFX
sample site (http://www.javafx.com/samples/#0), you see, for the lack
of a better term, "developer demos" with source code. I don't think
this is very appealing to designers - an app like the Eco Zoo would
be.

So is JavaFX (currently) not targeted at designers, am I not seeing
the right demos, or am I missing something here?
