I have to agree given Oracle's track record. They want to sell solutions and make money. They do pretty well at the later and tend to buy the former.
IBM is all about making money. They are great innovators on the hardware side, but on the software side they suffer from a culture where sales people are king and developers are a means to an end. It has served them well, but it does not do much good for the software. Oracle will most likely take the best software and put all its effort on it. In the end, they want to sell licenses and have everyone dependent on their software stack.
