Right, I didn't mean to suggest loading ROM's are the way to go in
general - that is not the open part of Android after all. Just to say
that if there aren't official ways, there are plenty of people working
on making things trivial. And that must also put pressure on vendors,
I can't foresee it will be long before Adobe gives us Flash 10 on
Android since 1) It is now available as an unofficial port from the
Hero ROM and 2) other vendors (bsquare.com) might beat them to it.

Another testament to the openness is that some upcoming devices i.e.
the Geeks’Phone comes with root:
