What I'd like to see in JavaFX is something that is fully capable of
developing most smallish, but absolutely full-featured enterprise apps.

When I say "smallish", I mean something that decidedly does not need to
be developed as a NetBeans or Eclipse RCP app and would be well suited
for delivery as an applet or Java Web Start app.

Despite being "smallish", such applications need most of the
functionality Swing gives today. Tables, trees, contextual means,
keyboard equivalents, and so on need to be easy. There's no point to
JavaFX in this space unless/until it gives this level of capability but
makes life a lot easier than with Swing.

I won't say JavaFX can't get there -- I'd just like to know when it will
be as until then it is just fluff, i.e. prettiness without substance, in
the enterprise app space.
