Hi folks

This is a chance to give out both a general message and also to
apologize to the person I just banned by accident.

As you may know, we get a ton of spam posted to the group. Everyone's
first posting is moderated which runs through us and we go through
every so often and approve or mark as spam based on the content. This
works well, as it keeps spam from the list, however we (often me) do
make the occasional mistake.

I made one of those mistakes just now - I marked a long list of email
as spam, and then just as I hit the button realized that one of the
messages buried in the middle looked genuine. I was too late to stop
the page submit and I don't know the email of the person affected. If
it was you, please try again and if the group tells you that you are
banned, send us an email to [email protected] and I will correct it.
Sorry about that.

This goes for all new posters as well, if you are reading this - I
would say we ban someone accidentally about once every few weeks. We
only intentionally ban spammers, anyone else is welcome to post, and
if you feel we have accidentally banned you, please send an email to
[email protected] and we will correct it. Yes it's a shame when we
accidentally hit a false positive, but honestly if we didn't do this
the group would be unreadable from the amount of spam we would get.

Thanks

Dick
