According to an article on the Register yesterday, Oracle plan to can JavaOne: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/10/06/sun_surprised_investigation/
Personally I think this is a big mistake. Java the language, and the wider JVM platform, need their own stage and I think JavaOne fitted that pretty well. Subsume all things Java into OpenWorld and its profile, visibility and eventually adoption will suffer. I'm not opposed to a Java element in OpenWorld, but with such a wide and deep product portfolio, Oracle can't surely ensure Java gets the visibility it needs in this environment. What do the rest of you guys think - I hope Tor, Carl, Dick and Jo will discuss this in an upcoming podcast... --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
