According to an article on the Register yesterday, Oracle plan to can

Personally I think this is a big mistake. Java the language, and the
wider JVM platform, need their own stage and I think JavaOne fitted
that pretty well. Subsume all things Java into OpenWorld and its
profile, visibility and eventually adoption will suffer. I'm not
opposed to a Java element in OpenWorld, but with such a wide and deep
product portfolio, Oracle can't surely ensure Java gets the visibility
it needs in this environment.

What do the rest of you guys think - I hope Tor, Carl, Dick and Jo
will discuss this in an upcoming podcast...
