There's some speculation that Apple would be better off developing a new filesystem suited to the nature of its core products: flash memory in the 10-100 GB range for iPods and iPhones, and SSDs for laptops as they get more affordable. Once we take away the assumption of ferrous oxide on a spinning disc, lots of things are presumably in play, and ZFS' advantages may not apply.
