Oracle is a business, so let's show them the money with JavaFX Mobile: - Runtime license fee: Google gives away an entire OS for free, Adobe the full Flash Player 10.1. Why would an operator / vendor pay for JavaFX Mobile? - Tools: Adobe makes money in tools, Sun has historically failed to do that. Microsoft failed to make a huge dent in the designer space against Adobe with their Expression suite, why should Sun do any better? - App store: Apple runs the iTunes store / app store "just above break- even" (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/01/26/app_store/). Now Sun would distribute no movies and no music, saving on bandwidth, but do more verification work due to platform fragmentation. I guess we have to wait for Wednesday to hear Oracle's plans. > A+ > Osvaldo -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
