I think in effect java one is dead - it is really a part of Oracle

J1 appears to be dead... but it will be treated as a separate part of OW. Which sort of looks like it's not dead. I'm not sure of all of the thinking behind the decision to move but I bet that much of it was... the EU stalled long enough that we simply don't have enough time to plan.

Other than confirming that JavaOne will continue to live on, was there
anything specific to Java and related products like Glassfish, NetBeans, etc

I managed to hang in there through most of the hardeware stuff (which while
technically interesting isn't stuff I'll use) but of course got distracted
by pesky work (and co-workers) once they started talking about software!

Does anyone notice the distinct difference between the
depth that they are going into on oracle stuff an not on
Sun stuff. Curian(sp?) just seems far more comfortable
with the Oracle stuff. It's almost as if someone else
wrote the java slides.
Well, somebody should learn that JavaFX has got no slash in
its name, but the substance of the keynote matters to me
much more than form :-)
