Thanks.

I've heard a lot about it on the SO Podcast and it seems like a very
good idea. The main issue that they will have is convincing HR
departments to sign up for it,they prefer to use the agency model.

I'm on SO myself and have tried to do my bit answering questions. Its
getting harder to answer them though because of the volume and
diversity.

BTW I'm not a fan of the agency model, its dispiriting as a developer
and as a hirer, its one more thing that gets in the way. Mind you, its
about 12 years since I had to deal with agents myself, I've been
working on the same risk system during that time, initially as a
developer and in the past few months as a manager. Its only recently
that I have had to start the recruitment process again. Agents seem a
bit more professional than they were in the past and actually seem to
be trying to give me decent CVs. I find it a bit disturbing that I get
CV/Resumes that have typos, spelling mistakes etc though!

I've had 2-3 CVs through personal recommendation recently and already
filled a .NET role through that means.
