Hi guys, While not specifically Java-related, I thought this was the right forum to poll for some input on this. We're currently doing development on a large Java EE project based on WebLogic / Oracle / Java 6. We (the dev and test team) are currently all in an office in Scotland, but all our servers (dev, test, ci, maven-repo, scm, etc.) are in England. The team is currently around 20-strong. In a few months time we are going to scale the team up (when Construction starts) to ~50, most of whom will be in India, though we will keep a prescence in Scotland and England. During this time we are planning to use Video Conferencing / VoIP /Desktop Sharing (generally multiple sessions of each in place at any one time) to keep the chaos at bay and the comms channel as open as possible. On top of the Comms needs, we will also be doing the usual checkout / checkins, builds, software downloads, FTP's of media, transfers of violumes of perf test data (gigs worth) etc.
So now the question: we're restricted by bandwidth at the moment, and about to upgrade. The question is, what do you guys have in the dist. environments where you work? What have you seen elsewhere? Any input would be greatfully received. Examples of good/bad would be even more appreciated. Hope you can help. Looking forward to hearing from you.
