Although I've been hosting on EC2 myself for the past 12 months, someone pointed me to http://www.server4you.net/vserver/
They seem to offer pretty beefy Linux VPS servers for a small monthly price, starting at 8.85€ / month for: 3Ghz CPU, 1+2GB RAM, 25GB HDD, 5GB traffic, backup, control pannel.... I don't know anyone hosting there, so I don't know how reliable they are, anyone?
