I agree (I am not currently an android user but most likely will be
one day).

In early days of the iphone (pre android, pre iphone app store)  - I
was amazed at the ability for people to build apps despite no official
apis, and all out hostility from Apple. Yet amazing apps resulted.
Android has come along and actively encourages this talent  - which is
just bloody fantastic.
