Yes, though there's some building of your own involved. A lot less on
a mac than on windows though. If you want to seamlessly keep up to
date with the various branches, linux is the best platform to work on.

Case in point: Jigsaw binaries are trivial to build yourself on linux,
quite some effort on other platforms.
