Most of the Manning books are available in both PDF formats. Some of them
are available in ePub format as well. There are PDF readers for both iPod
Touch/iPhone and Android that should let you read your books. I'm not sure
how readable they'll be.

I've had some success reading journal articles by loading them first into
Google Docs and then reading them with my iPod. Definitely saves some trees
that way.

I've read through a lot of the Android documentation on my iPod Touch
without any problems. Although at some point you have to try out some code
in order to see things work.

At several of the companies that I worked at, we setup "lunch and learn"
meetings. Sometimes people would demo code, tools or technologies. Other
times we watched demos or keynote addresses from JavaOne or Google IO. If
you bring laptops to the lunch and learn then you can try out some of the
technologies that you see in the demos. It's nice to learn things with your
team mates.

Hope this helps,

Mark
