So, I think that the content providers should be kept as much as separated from channel providers. That's why I'm so negative about the iPhone, because Jobs clearly wants to be/control both. In addition to the scenario of democratic countries, there are also countries where speech is strongly controlled, and a government could take the control of the kill switch, maybe with the cooperation of the channel providers (and please guys don't tell me that Google does not evil, because it's laughable - I'm a strong supporter of capitalism and capitalism is based on egoistic attitude and desire to be profitable; the fact the corporates makes good and not evil in a capitalistic context doesn't derive from corporates' intents, but it emerges from a mix of competition, law enforcement and freedom of speech/information).
Of course, if they can't kill what has been installed by any other means, I agree with you that we shouldn't be too worried. But why they just didn't do that in a different way? That is, rather than automatically killing an app, tell the user that there's a potential risk and ask for his confirmation to kill it. - -- Fabrizio Giudici - Java Architect, Project Manager Tidalwave s.a.s. - "We make Java work.
